The task of the course was to look at a profession from the point of view of ergonomic improvements and to make improvements based on this. Physical work is part of the daily routine at the animal shelter, the financial means are scarce and the staff is 

mostly understaffed. The conventional animal accessories, especially muzzle and dog leash, are reaching their limits with the number of animals. Furthermore, the situation 

is complicated by wild and frightened animals, as they are not trained to humans. 

In the animal shelter muzzles and dog leashes are essential, but the process can be simplified. The main problem is, among other things, the fasteners, which are complicated to handle and take a lot of time. Inspired by marine knots, dog leash and muzzle were designed with this in mind.

The muzzle can be closed with one pull. It also has two knots that stimulate the neurovascular reflex points. These points are located between eyes and ears and reduce stress.

In the dog leash, collar and leash were combined. By pulling on the leash, it closes, but only up to a certain point, so that the dog is not injured. This is done by the ball, which is fixed to the rope and prevents the knot from pulling further.
